New Leaders Sponsors Rails Rumble '08

October 18-19
Are you ready to rumble? Does your four-man team have what it takes to build a web application from scratch in 48 hours? You can find out by joining this year’s Rails Rumble contest. New Leaders, alongside GitHub, Engine Yard, O’Reilly Media, and many others, will be sponsoring 2008’s event.
Last year, New Leaders qualified finishing as 1st runner-up (Damn, TastyPlanner was good). Our own entry, Electric Checkbook, has since grown in popularity, and provided a springboard for the New Leaders foundation. If you are looking for a channel to show off your skills and profit from distinction, then Rails Rumble ’08 just might be the opportunity you seek.
This year we’ll be doing something new: it is called the “RailsRumble ’08 WorkShare”. Participating companies will be opening their doors to teams, allowing them a place from which to work during the two-day sprint. New Leaders will have space for 3-4 teams in our office, including ample bandwidth at your disposal. We’ll do our very best to accommodate the contestants with Red Bull and coffee. New Leaders’ team will not be participating as contestants this year, but we are happy to provide support and guidance throughout the event. If you are in the Santa Barbara area and are interested in utilizing our space during the Rumble, please email us at info@newleaders.com and we will make sure to secure your spot.
Chat is a pretty big deal during the event. If you need a free, private, group chat client for your team, we recommend using Signalfire. We’ll be opening an official room accessible by anyone during the marathon.
