Rails Rumble '08: Registration

Are you ready to rumble? You can now register your four-man, Ruby on Rails, ninja force strike team for the 2008 Rails Rumble. The team leader will need an OpenID nickname, which I assume any rumbler already has.

Simply head over to http://app.railsrumble.com to begin the registration process.

New Leaders will be participating as a team, but decline to qualify as finalists, as we are a sponsor and will help to host the event. Speaking of hosting the event, New Leaders is participating in the Rails Rumble WorkShare, along with our friends at Engine Yard, Thoughtbot, HashRocket, Edgecase and Mad Pilot Prod.

New Leaders’ doors will be open for 48 hours while the action during the contest unfolds. We anticipate having room for 3-4 teams as well as anyone that just wants to hang out or stop by. The organizers put together more information on their site about how the workshare will function:

If you are in the Santa Barbara area and are interested in utilizing our space during the Rumble, please email us at info@newleaders.com and we will make sure to secure your spot.

About The Contest The Rails Rumble is a 48 hour web application development contest. As a contestant, you get one weekend to design, develop, and deploy the best web property that you can, using the awesome power of Ruby on Rails. As a judge, you get to review some great new (and useful! and fun!) micro applications, and determine which teams fare best in a number of categories. This year, the building portion of the competition is taking place over the weekend of October 18th and 19th. Open voting will begin shortly after development is complete.
