Tim Burton's failures

Seth Godin recently published a post about how Tim Burton spent most of his career is working on failures rather than the few successes that we are all so familiar with. What I think is interesting is a number of the projects have titles that look like potential winners.
Catwoman, Conversations With Vincent, Dinosaurs Attack!, The Fall of the House of Usher, Geek Love, Go Baby Go, Hawkline Monster, Lost in Oz, Mai the Psychic Girl, Mary Reilly, Superman Lives, X: The Man With X-Ray Eyes.
What Seth brings to the surface in his article is that real artists ship. This was a mantra that Steve Jobs used to go around Apple and promote in the early days when they were working on Macintosh.
Tim got his ideas out the door, to the people who decided what to do with them. And more often than not, they shot down his ideas. That’s okay. He he ultimately completed a number of projects that will forever cement him in Hollywood’s history books.
