Twitter for iPhone: Feature Requests
Tell us what you think needs to be added to the next version of Twitter for iPhone. We’ll tally up all the votes, and give you guys what you want.

Thanks for your thoughts, Levi. We have discussed adding updating to the timeline by pulling up the keyboard, much like how the SMS app works. We have seen other implementations of this, and it seems to work well. We will consider adding it in the next version.

Great to get it on the iPhone! It would be even better to be able to send pictures taken from the iPhone in a post.

Allowing users to change would be cool. I mostly use the twitter.com mobile version and I like twitterforiphone better. Hahlo was cool for a while but its painfully slow over Edge.
Will you be able to view older posts like in the twitter.com mobile?
Rock!

@JeffAndersen — We agree. Most other twitter clients for iPhone are not optimized for mobile usage. We tout that as a benefit of our version.
You can view anyone’s previous list of posts by clicking their avatar. Doing that will take you to their profile and you can choose to follow, or just review their previous posts. You can click on your own avatar to view just your posts.
Click on menu, then the “Direct Message” or “Direct Replies” to view previous messages with people you know.
I hope this helps, and we will continue to make Twitter for iPhone better.
Thanks for your support.

1. Smaller menu buttons, please?
2. Public timeline button, please?

@Jim Johnson— We appreciate your opinion about the smaller menu buttons. Unfortunately, we have received a lot of praise from users for having buttons large enough to tap. This we’ll keep the way it is. As for your own personal timeline, just click on your own avatar and you’ll see all of your posts; click on anyone’s image and it shows theirs as well. You are right, we do not have the public timeline displayed with “everyone’s” posts, which is something we’ll consider adding.
Thanks again for your thoughts!

@Jim Johnson — We should have a new release out next week with updates from the feedback we’ve been getting. The public timeline will definitely be in there, but I’ll have to see what the designers are working on before I know about the menu buttons.

How can I get a twitter touch icon for my iphone on the main screen?
Posted on May 26, 2008 by Janelle
@Janelle — Press the plus ”+” symbol at the bottom of safari, and the click the button to “Add to home screen.” It will display the icon and the name as Twitter. Click to confirm and it will add the icon to your home screen.

I really like your site compared to Twitters mobile site but all you need is a reply button and a place to see older updates.

Post Your Thoughts

I would like to see a dedicated page, simply for updating status so I can make it a link on my home screen. It can reduce taps to actually update quicker. Right now, it’s quicker for me to send an update via SMS, so maybe if the page came up with a keyboard all set and ready to post with one tap.
EXCELLENT software, I love it. Thank you so much.
