Some of the Topics Covered:

Sell The Truth
Could you still sell your product offering if you couldn’t exaggerate — if you had to tell the truth about your product’s features and capabilities?

Easy To Buy
Bring easy-to-understand, yet unconventional pricing to a product or industry that appears to be happy with the status quo, and see what happens.

Burn The Boats
Ask yourself what kind of leader you are. Do you automatically retreat when a difficult challenge is in front of you, or do you stay and fight?

Cherish Your Customers
Customers are often treated like they don’t matter. Whether it is standing in line, waiting on hold, or being told to get lost. Some companies seem to forget how important each and every customer is in maintaining a solid reputation.

Skate On Thin Ice
Looking for an edge over the competition? If you offer something better, cheaper, or faster, you’ll receive the attention you’ve been looking for.

Practical Advice About Delivering Great Service

Lessons for Leaders is a collection of advice, anecdotes and philosophies that were learned during the formative years of New Leaders. These pages capture the idealism of the entrepreneurial spirit found in the heart of someone bootstrapping a new business. Although some of the lessons might appear naive when compared to Harvard Business Review or Inc., the intention was not to write an academic paper but rather to appeal to other entrepreneurs in a meaningful and approachable way. We hope you enjoy reading these lessons as much as we enjoyed learning them.

At a very young age, Kevin Milden began his career as a self-taught digital artist and graphic designer. Growing up in Orange County in a family of software developers, Kevin came to his profession naturally. In 1997 he moved to Santa Barbara and co-founded Impossible Inc. Through Impossible, Kevin has helped brands such as Adobe, FastClick, Commission Junction, Pacific Life and Smart & Final launch successful products online. In 2005, Kevin helped a small team of developers position their document sharing wiki as "The Web Word Processor". A little more than a year later, Writely was snapped up by Google and ultimately grew into Google Docs. In late 2006, Kevin was unsatisfied with the complacency within the creative industry and co-founded New Leaders with partner Robert Bousquet in early 2007. Since launch, New Leaders' projects have been featured on Apple, Read/Write/Web, Cnet and many other websites. Kevin has helped New Leaders' customers launch products such as RightScale, Audience Science, Procore and Appfolio.
