Signalfire
Chat with everyone
More often, teams of people are collaborating on projects from all over the world. At New Leaders we find using the chat medium is as essential as
communicating by email. We are big fans of Twitter and Campfire, and we felt we could create a solid, real-time group chat application that was free.
The big difference between Signalfire and existing group chat apps is that it is user-centric, rather than company-centric, allowing you to effortlessly switch between simultaneous chat groups. They can be public chats about politics, or private chats with your colleagues. Creating a new chat room and uploading files is standard, and you can even use Textile to embed images, further enhancing your posts.
Electric Checkbook
Manage your finances
Accounting applications are too complex. New Leaders needed an easy way to track our accounts, yet we wanted to share this
information between
colleagues.
Collaborative accounting doesn’t really exist, and the products out there are either too public,
too private, or too expensive. That was the driving force behind the creation of Electric Checkbook.
A simple and free approach to bringing both personal and professional
account ledgers to one place. The account overview page shows your balances within groups, so you can easily see your cash versus debt ratios. This tells you if you should curb spending. As always, it is totally free.
Logpost
Start a discussion
When creating a discussion forum (Inspired by Beast) for our web site, we realized that if we could easily setup
private and public discussions, we could use them for practically everything. With Logpost, you can create a topic and start a discussion by inviting people to post their thoughts, comments, or files.
We decided to go a little further and allow each topic and discussion to accept email. This means you can even use Logpost as an email account. Then, we thought it would be useful to read our RSS feeds alongside everything else. So it does that, too.
Logpost, combined with Signalfire, handles about 1/2 of the various types of information you need to consume everyday. We have a few more products up our sleeve that will handle the other half.
Twitter for iPhone
Follow your friends from anywhere
It started out as an experiment to bring the most popular Ruby on Rails application to Apple’s new iPhone.
Released just days after the iPhone hit the market, and with positive reviews from Apple, CNET and Laughing Squid, Twitter for iPhone has grown into one of the most used Twitter clients in the world. We are huge fans of Twitter. It is a great way to see what everyone is doing between blog posts, chats, and email. Since its inception, over 250,000 iPhone users have logged on and posted to Twitter. We are proud to host the audience. You can even use it on your desktop if you don't have an iPhone, which is fun, too.
